Mangroves and tidal salt marshes are critical ecosystems along Ghana’s coast, offering vital benefits such as sequestering carbon to combat climate change, protecting biodiversity, and supporting local livelihoods. However, these ecosystems face ongoing threats from human activities, climate change, and habitat loss, leading to significant environmental, social, and economic challenges.
Ecological Nest has been commissioned by the Ministry of Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation and the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources to gather comprehensive data and develop practical strategies to restore and sustainably manage these ecosystems.
