Background of Ecological Nest

Ecological Nest (ECONEST) was registered on 21st November 2011 as an environmental conservation NGO. ECONEST has since 2011 implemented four projects that directly relate to biodiversity conservation and sustainable livelihood activities. ECONEST has promoted environmental awareness and education in forest communities in the past 5 years. It supports awareness raising, ecotourism and livelihood alternatives of people in resource-dependent communities. Our work has been focused around forest areas of Ghana concentrating in the communities in the High Forest Zone of Ghana.

We aim at promoting social and economic development through the conservation of biodiversity and improvement of natural environments.

Our mission is to sustain the physical and biological environment for improved human livelihoods.
